Debra paints with a plein air group that meets Mondays at various locations to paint outside. The Plein Air Painters Show was held June 23 to July 30 2017 at the Dundas Museum 139 Park St W, Dundas, ON.

Debra is currently showing art at McMaster Innovation Park, December 1st 2017 to February 28th 2018.

A Day on the Bridge was a Canada 150 Celebration event featuring music, art, food, and a fantastic view from the McQuestion Bridge. Debra was an organizer and artist at the art show. Funds raised went toward buying green space for Cootes to the Escarpment.

Debra regularly shows a variety of works at EarthShake restaurant 103 King St. West, Dundas.

Debra is currently showing art at McMaster Innovation Park, May 30th to June 29th.

Debra and friend Ange guided students in designing and painting murals (8ft x 4ft) to enhance the Millgrove School.

Whether endangered or threatened several species are losing habitat due to development.

Two bird populations I watch closely each summer are barn swallows and chimney swifts. Both have decreased significantly.

There are 50 nests in my barn fully active with barn swallows socializing and catching insects. From May to August, the birds tend to their fledglings. A bird will often have two rounds of five babies per summer season. They prefer to nest in structures like lofts and barns and can often be found playing and interacting with each other.

The chimney swift prefers to nest in chimneys and hollow logs. With less chimneys and depleted forest areas, chimney swifts have a decreasing habitat for nesting.

Through my paintings I hope to bring awareness regarding species at risk and their habitats.

I am currently showing paintings at the McMaster Innovation Park from December 1st until March 1st.

I am showing a collection of my works with Mary Pat Fuchs from December 3rd to January 29th at St. James Anglican Church – 137 Melville St. Dundas, Ontario.
